Frontiers in Cooperative Banking Awards 2007

Date: June 14, 2007
Venue: ITC Grand Maratha, SAHAR, Andheri (East) Mumbai

Banking Frontiers organized the first awards ceremony for cooperative banks in the country - Frontiers in Cooperative Banking Awards 2007 in order to indentify and recognize pionnering efforts by the cooperative banks in achieving technology and business excellence. The banks were divided into 3 categories based on their deposits: SMALL – Deposit upto Rs 100 crore, MEDIUM -  Deposit above Rs 100 crore and up to Rs 500 crore and LARGE - Deposit above Rs 500 crore.

There were six broad award categories:

  • Payment Systems
  • Channels / ATMs
  • Wide Area Networking
  • E Security
  • Business Continuity
  • Aligning Core Banking with Business

Awards were also instituted for associations and federations:

  • Facilitating IT Skills Up gradation
  • Facilitating Technology Sharing

Cooperative banks from all across the country were invited to send their details on the above six topics to participate in the competition. An independent jury comprising eminent people from banking and technology domains was set up to determine the winners.

Frontiers in Cooperative Banking Awards 2008

Venue: Hyatt Regency, Andheri (E)

After the successful debut last year, Frontiers in Cooperative Banking Awards in 2008, Banking Frontiers is continuing the legacy of honouring the cooperative banks in 2008 for their best practices in business and technology areas. Last year, 20 banks from among 100-plus banks all over India, were presented with the awards under various categories. This has generated a huge enthusiasm among the cooperative banks and created spirit of healthy competition.

While over 350 bankers and technology professionals from 170 of the most progressive banks had attended the function, the event is expected to be a more memorable this year.
In addition to the awards ceremony, there will be an exhibition of latest banking technologies.

This year the even witnessed participation from nearly 300 bankers and tech professionals from across the country. Banking Frontiers have already laid the foundation for the awards by organizing a 10-city Cooperative Banking Roadmap, which has successfully covered cooperative banks across five states.
