One might be tempted to think that private sector banks were able to leap ahead of the rest of the banks in India due to their superior technology. But the real reason is that these banks made considerable headway in view of their focus on retail banking. To capture the retail banking market, new private sector banks implemented core banking, ATMs, internet banking, etc. So in reality, it is retail banking that is the true driver of banking in India. Now of course every bank in India is focusing on retail banking and delivering it through associated technologies.
Keeping this in mind, Banking Frontiers had organized a conference in Mumbai titled Retail Banking Directions. Business Intelligence & MIS for top management, fraud management, business development etc were some of the topics discussed during the event. |
